Boarding a dog for the first time, or when trying a new facility, comes with questions most owners don't think to ask until after drop-off. A few worth covering on the phone beforehand: What's the staff-to-dog ratio during the day and overnight? Is there a vet on call or on-site if something comes up? How much outdoor time does each dog get, and is it individual or group play? It's also worth asking directly about vaccination requirements. A facility that's strict about proof of vaccines (rather than just asking you to self-report) is generally a good sign, since it means they're managing risk for every dog in their care, not just yours.
